A secluded cottage resort with four private beaches, this property is set on a 30-acre peninsula between the ocean and a large bay on Bermuda's west side. The open Atlantic Ocean borders the resort's north side, and Mangrove Bay borders its south side. The Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa offers 94 guestrooms and suites in one- and two-story pink-and-white cottages scattered over a 30-acre peninsula on Bermuda's west side. Some cottages are available only as complete units. One cottage dates from the late 17th century. Others date from the early 1800s when they housed workers for the British Royal Naval Dockyard about 3 miles north. These still bear the names of their last residents. Some cottages began being used for guests in the 1920s, and the resort grew by buying other cottages over the decades. Now, all buildings on the peninsula are part of the resort. Adjacent to a seafarers'-type tavern, is a wall festooned with the names of long-time guests.
