With it's superb views across the Lake and excellent location, this is a lovely place to stay and explore the beauty of the Lake District. A good value family run hotel in an excellent location. The owners of the property are very knowledgeable about the area, particularly Andrew. Once a holiday home and owned by the best loved children's author Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe is a tranquil place to relax and enjoy yourself, with breathtaking views to admire from the cozy lounges and sun terrace. This unique Country House hotel offers superb accommodation and fantastic 2 AA Rosette dining in a great setting. The Hydro is under new ownership. The new owner has invested very heavily in the refurbishing of the hotel both inside and out. The once-tired hotel, which benefited purely from its excellent location, now has rooms and facilities of a very good standard. The hotel now also benefits from the recent addition of a swimming pool and a gymnasium. (GW 10/2008)
The hotel also boasts a fantastic 17m swimming pool which overlooks the lake and is surrounded by glass panels with etched impressions of the lake land.
