Founded in 1972, Biman Airlines is the flag carrier of Bangladesh. It had been wholly owned by the government of Bangladesh before it converted into a public sector. Biman Airlines is headquartered in Balaka Bhaban in Kurmitola in the capital of Bangladesh. It operates scheduled and private passenger flights and cargo services out of its main aviation site at Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) and Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) and Osmani International Airport (ZYL) as secondary airports. The passengers on this cabin are allowed a checked baggage of 30 kgs limited to two pieces of 158 centimeters dimensions in total. In addition, they are also allowed to carry hand luggage of 10kgs to the passenger cabin.
The passengers are allowed a checked baggage of 20 kgs and hand luggage of 7 kgs free of charges.
The passengers traveling with infants are allowed to check-in 10 kgs extra as an allowance for their infants bearing in mind that the allowed weight limit per a suitcase is 32 kgs.
In addition to the allowed carry-on luggage, the passengers regardless of their class can carry ladies handbag, overcoat, umbrella, notebook, a camera, reasonable reading materials, infant food, and a pair of crutches.
