Flydubai was established in 2008 by the government of Dubai and it launched its first flights on the 1st of June 2009. Flydubai is the second largest low-cost Emirati airlines after Air Arabia. It is headquartered in Dubai and Dubai International Airport is the main airport for its operations. Emirates Airlines supported the launch of Flydubai in the initial stages.
Flydubai operates 1400 flights per week to more than 85 international destinations in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe. The fleet of Flydubai consists of different Boeing models. Flydubai workforce has reached more than 3000 employees from 111 different nationalities.

Flydubai launches operations to 10 popular seasonal summer destinations between June and September 2024 Flydubai, is gearing up to launch ten seasonal destinations for its summer schedule, offering passengers a selection of stunning destinations to discover from next June. This summer, Flydubai is growing its seasonal summer network this year with ten unique destinations including Batumi, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mykonos, Olbia and Santorini and also features flydubai’s latest seasonal summer destination, Sochi.

Flydubai adds Al-Jouf and Red Sea International Airport to its destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Flydubai, the low-cost Emirati air carrier, announces the launch of flights to two destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the resumption of flights to Al-Jawf, and the start of its flights to the Red Sea International Airport. Flights will start to Al-Jouf Airport and Red Sea International Airport starting April 18, with two flights per week from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport.
Based on its efforts to expand and develop, flydubai’s flight network has grown to 129 destinations in 58 countries, and is served by a modern and active fleet consisting of 86 Boeing 737 aircraft. Flydubai has opened its operations to Penang, Langkawi and Mombasa and announced the start of its flights to Basel, Riga, Sochi and Tallinn. And Vilnius this year.

Economy Class:
Economy Class on Flydubai features comfort in terms of seat configuration. The seats are relatively large and have enough pitch for stretching feet. The passengers have the chance to pre-book their preferred meals or order them on board. They can have access to inflight AVOD available in return for nominal fees.
Business Class:
Business Class on board of Flydubai features luxury. The seats are larger than Economy Class and are made of fine Italian leather. The seats are adjustable and are equipped with flexible footrest and side power ports. The passengers are given complimentary access to AVOD to enjoy watching world class movies displayed on individual high resolution screens of 12.1 inches. They are also offered menus to select their meals and beverages. On ground services on Business class includes access to the airport waiting-lounges, fast check-in track and priority boarding the airplane.

Presently, Flydubai fleet consists of about 61 airplanes of the latest Boeing 737-800 models with a capacity of up to 189 seats per aircraft which can fly more than 6 hours in a single flight duration.
Flydubai is expected to receive new aircraft of Boeing 737-800 and 737 Max 8, which are fuel-economic and environmentally friendly, to increase the fleet size.

Economy Class passengers: The passengers can pre-pay to check-in one piece of 20 kgs. Also, they can purchase excess baggage weighing up to 30 kgs, 40 kgs providing that each suitcase may weigh 32 kgs or less. On some flights, baggage allowance may be included in the fare of the ticket.
Beside checked baggage, Economy Class passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage weighing 7 kgs and a laptop bag or one handbag, provided that the total weight of hand luggage shall not exceed 10 kgs.
Business Class Passengers: The passengers are allowed checked baggage up to three pieces of 40kgs and they are allowed hand luggage of two pieces up to 15 kgs.
Passengers traveling with infants are entitled to carry extra hand luggage containing the necessary clothes and baby food provided that the dimensions shall not exceed 25cm*45cm* 56cm.

In most flights, Flydubai offers online check-in where the passengers can print their boarding passes. They are available online 24 hours to 90 minutes before scheduled flight departure time. Destinations to which online check-in is not available, the passengers can check-in by approaching Flydubai counters in the airport, which are open three hours to 60 minutes before scheduled flight departure time. In addition, they can utilize the self-service machines at Dubai International Airport for checking-in.
